INFORTREND RELEASES NEW 24-BAY RAID SYSTEM
FC-2G to SATA-II Array Supports 12TB Capacity in 4U Enclosure

TAIPEI, Taiwan, November 18, 2005 – Infortrend®, a leader in cost-effective, high-performance storage solutions , today announced the EonStor® (ES) A24F FC-2G to SATA-II RAID subsystem. This new array is the company's largest capacity data storage subsystems to date. With the same unsurpassed power and storage volume, the ES A24F boasts an IBM PowerPC FX 600MHz CPU and supports up to 12TB total system capacity when its 24 bays are populated with 500GB SATA drives.

Built around Infortrend's proprietary ASIC266 dual PCI-X architecture, the ES A24F-G2224 features single RAID controllers, eight FC-2G host ports, DDR266 cache memory, two dual-fan cooling modules, 3 (n+1) redundant power supplies, and an optional battery backup unit. This SAN-ready subsystem also has an embedded hub that provides daisy-chaining and clustering capabilities.

The A24F chassis has been enhanced to reduce vibration resonance and its dual-speed cooling fans provide quiet operation and lower power consumption under normal operating conditions. With its auto switch cache and shutdown policies plus support for an optional battery backup unit and uninterruptible power supply, the ES A24F ensures data protection when critical conditions occur.
