NEW EONSTOR ARRAYS BENEFIT FROM INFORTREND'S LATEST ASIC

Systems Run 25 Percent Faster and Carry Windows Server 2003 Logo, RAID6 Protection

Taipei, Taiwan.,August14, 2006 – RAID storage expert Infortrend® today announced the EonStor® A16F-G2430 and A16U-G2430 RAID arrays, the first two EonStor subsystems to use Infortrend's exclusive ASIC400, the company's latest application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC). Running at 400MHz, the ASIC400 delivers a 25 percent performance boost to this next generation of EonStor products, giving the new systems ample power for any business-critical computing environment. The EonStor A16F-G2430 utilizes 4Gbps Fibre Channel (FC-4G) technology for twice the throughput and higher reliability compared to FC-2G. The ES A16U-G2430 SCSI-320 to SATA-II system is ideal for enterprise-class environments that require the reliability and expansion options of SCSI RAID or simply dedicated performance. 

In addition to being the first EonStor systems to incorporate Infortrend's fifth generation ASIC, they are also the vanguards of other product line innovations:

• These new arrays carry the “Designed for Windows Server 2003” logo, guaranteeing seamless operation with Windows Server 2003 for more efficient, secure and productive RAID storage environments.
• Both products come with RAID6 built into the firmware to provide an extremely high level of fault tolerance for mission-critical data by handling two simultaneous drive failures without downtime or data loss.
• The systems have been pre-qualified to use the market's largest capacity SATA drives, the 750GB and 500GB Barracuda ES hard drives from Seagate. Optimized for 24x7 reliability, the Barracuda ES drives maximize scalability and are ideal for low cost-per-GB storage for digital media files or in data protection schemes such as disk-to-disk and snapshot.
• Plus, these systems fully meet the requirements of the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) legislation including lead-free solder for a clean and healthy environment.
